“FLOR de LIS” - one of the world’s largest and most spectacular rubellite (red tourmaline) specimens -
was found in 1978 in Brazil’s Jonas Mine, famous for producing unique cranberry-red
rubellites. It is rumored that miners guarded these rare treasures using poisonous snakes.
